Begin in Kathmandu, your base for exploring the area’s many charms; among the highlights is a visit to the ancient kingdom of Patan to learn about its rich Newari artistic and cultural heritage. Depart bustling Kathmandu and head to Dhulikhel, stopping en route to explore the Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur, renowned for its resident artisans and high quality of the art, architecture, pottery and weaving they produce. Tour Dhulikhel on the afternoon of your arrival and the next morning get up early to watch the sun rise over the high Himalayas, a magnificent experience that should not be missed. From Dhulikhel, continue to Pokhara, the launching point for many mountain and trekking adventures. Watch the sunset while floating on Lake Phewa and then spend the day touring the town. From Pokhara, drive to the Royal Chitwan National Park, one of Asia’s finest wildlife preserves. Spend a full day exploring the park; your expert guide will help you spot rhinos, monkeys and -- if you are lucky -- one of the rare endangered Bengal tigers. After touring the park, return by plane to Kathmandu for a final day touring the city’s many temples and artisan quarters.
