| Immerse yourself in the historical riches of ancient Persia. After an introductory tour of Tehran, fly to Kerman, your base for exploring the surrounding desert. Tour the spectacular mud-brick citadel of Bam, and Mahan, with its evocative landscape of violet mountains. Drive to Yazd, resplendent with traditional Persian architecture. Continue on to Shiraz, where you will tour this most charming of cities, and the nearby imposing ruins of Persepolis. Fly to the royal city of Isfahan, where you can wander the colorful bazaars of the Maidan-e Imam, and the town's central square, second in size only to Tiananmen Square.
