This unique itinerary offers an opportunity to climb out of the game vehicle and see Africa as the great explorers did -- on foot. Suitable for anyone of moderate physical fitness, this itinerary allows you to examine the great natural contrasts of Botswana up close, from the arid Kalahari Desert to the wetlands of the Okavango Delta. As you traverse the varied terrain, private campsites featuring spacious walk-in tents with modern amenities await your arrival each night. Begin with an overnight stay in Livingstone to see the magnificent Victoria Falls, a must for any visitor to this region. Next, fly to the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve for three nights, enjoying two full days of safari viewing activities in this diverse region. Linyanti is famous for its large concentrations of game (especially elephant) and the marshes, waterways, and riverine forests that line the Savute Channel. Continue on to the Selinda Reserve for three nights exploring the flood plain ecosystem of the region between the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. From Selinda, depart by charter flight to the lush Okavango Delta, where you will spend two nights at Jacana Camp. The mobile safari concludes in the expansive Kalahari Desert; spend two nights in the absorbing quiet of this magnificent desert, taking time to visit the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. This is a group safari operating from February through November with set departure dates and a maximum of 8 passengers. |
